2016 YP Leadership Luncheon - August

Date: August 23, 2016 Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Event Description

As a new program this year for young professionals, the Chamber of Commerce is launching the YP Leadership Luncheon series as an opportunity for members of the under-40 crowd to both connect and socialize while developing their career and leadership skills. This one-hour program coincides with the traditional lunch hour where guests can enjoy lunch and glean information to apply to their careers and community.

Jason M. West is an entrepreneur, business leader, former Groupon executive and
retired U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Lieutenant Colonel. During his time deployed overseas and with Groupon, West implemented leadership skills in his management of young professionals he learned as an officer using the theory "Officers Eat Last." It was this form of servant leadership that led him to develop a leadership curriculum and doctrine of the same name and have published his recent book "Leadership Development: A Blueprint for Building Your Leadership Foundation," which will be available at the luncheon at a lower price than on Amazon. His experience in both military and corporate environments taught him the shared qualities of sacrifice, consensus building, collaboration and discipline. He and his family recently moved to Decatur.

We are excited to continue this series for our young professional community and we encourage you to bring guests and co-workers. Tickets for the event are $12, which includes lunch. Seating for this event is limited, so we encourage you to make your reservation soon.
