The Chamber's 2026 Annual Meeting - presented by Indorama Ventures - is an opportunity to celebrate the past 12 months in our community while looking ahead to anticipate what's next for Decatur-Morgan County. Outgoing Chair Kelli Powers, President of Decatur Morgan Hospital, will pass the gavel to incoming Chair Cindy Smith, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones. 

Also, the Chamber will present the Athelyne C. Banks Citizen of the Year Award sponsored by Redstone Federal Credit Union and the Rosie Hennessy Award to recognize our Commodore of the Year sponsored by Habitat ReStore.

Our keynote speaker, Steve Bateman, is the Senior Pastor of First Bible Church in Decatur and a respected historian who will present, “The Power of Belonging: Why Communities That Work Together Win.”

The contributions of small businesses in Decatur - Morgan County will be recognized at the Chamber's annual Small Business Awards Celebration. The following awards will be presented: the Raymon Baker-John Cook-Ralph Jones Small Business Person of the Year, the  Lynn C. Fowler Non-Profit Professional of the Year and the Arthur Orr Young Professional of the Year.

The 2025-2026 Excellence in Leadership graduates will be recognized as part of the program so those graduates do not need to register. Members who are celebrating milestone anniversaries will also be recognized.

This three-day camp helps students gain hands-on experience with electric and hybrid vehicles, build an electric motor, learn the basics of gas engines – including setting the engine up on a test stand and making it run! Participants will also work with innovative diagnostic tools and have the opportunity to tour an automotive shop. This camp is for students entering 9th-12th grades and will be held at the Calhoun Community College Automotive Technology Center at the Decatur Campus. Sponsoring Automotive Technology Camp connects your brand with future members of the automotive industry while supporting them in gaining valuable, high-demand skills as well as partners you with Calhoun Community College to drive local workforce development.

The Chamber's 14th Annual Clay Shoot Classic is a day-long clay shooting tournament hosted by Old South Clays in Athens, Ala. Teams and sponsorships for the event were sold through the Chamber's Total Resource Campaign. Through the Summer Welding and Electrical Technology (SWeETy) Camp, 9th - 12th grade girls are provided an opportunity to learn hands-on technical skills that can lead to high-paying, satisfying careers in high growth industries in Decatur-Morgan County. The four-day camp teaches the importance of safety and the intricate technological components of welding and electrical mechanisms, culminating with industry tour, class projects, and local businesswomen in the manufacturing sector sharing their experiences with the attendees each day. Sponsoring SWeETy Camp connects your brand with future female leaders in technical fields, supports young women in gaining valuable, high-demand skills and partners you with Calhoun Community College to drive local workforce development.

The Chamber's Educational Camp programs feature hands-on and interactive environments where students receive training and exposure to careers of the future. Automotive, Cyber, Healthcare, Precision Machining and SWeETy camps will be the featured programs for 2026, along with the potential of others added based on the needs of our workforce community. The audience will include high school students and education leadership teams in Decatur-Morgan County.

Join us for Chamber's annual State of Healthcare Forum where we will discuss the successes and opportunities facing our local healthcare system and its impact on our business community.
 

The Chamber's annual Endless Opportunities Education Event gathers 8th graders from across north Alabama school systems to explore the wide variety of career options available to them following their high school graduation - careers available right in their own back yard.

The 2026 Chamber Golf Classic will be Friday, October 2, 2026 and is presented by Adams Beverages of Decatur. The day-long event will be held at Burningtree Country Club. 

The event is also made possible by Gold Sponsors Decatur Morgan Hospital, DOC Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and Huntsville International Airport.
