Jul 1    Spirit of America Black & White Party
The July 1st Black and White Party is an exclusive event and will be attended by only ticket holders, VIP ticket holders and Sponsors. Our DJ will carry you through the tunes of the last 50 years and we may even have some other entertainers join the festivities. Heavy hors D'ouevers will be provided by Currys.  It will be a special event you will not want to miss.  VIP ticket holders receive VIP parking  just steps from the field, special access to the Beer and Wine Garden, VIP treatment in a special area and are allowed to bring your own canopy tent to set up for the entire festival in one of 2 special designated areas.

The Decatur Jaycees hold their monthly business meeting the first Tuesday of each month, typically at the Chamber.

Jul 11 - Jul 14    SWeETy Camp
Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce and Calhoun Community College team up to present the Summer Welding & Electrical Technology Camp for 9th – 12th grade girls. This free camp provides hands-on experience in welding and electricity and help students develop problem solving skills and teamwork as they participate in instructor-led projects, field trips, and interact with women role models during industry sponsored lunches. We have also added a second camp to the lineup in partnership with local schools and business and industry partners.

Jul 23    A Ray of Hope Event 10th Anniversary Celebration
AshaKiran is proud to announce A Ray of Hope Event 2016 commemorating 10 years of AshaKiran's service and raise funds vital to support their work, emergency shelter and outreach programs. Featuring a fusion cuisine banquet dinner, a dynamic address by a renowned speaker & author on domestic violence, dancing to music provided by live multi-genre artists & an out of this world Bollywood performance! Jul 25    2016 Municipal Candidate Forum
On July 25, the One Morgan Leadership Committee of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce will host a municipal candidate forum at the Princess Theater Center for the Performing Arts featuring candidates and incumbents for mayor and city council seats. The event - which will include a meet-and-greet at 5 p.m. and a formal question and answer session led by a moderator at 6 p.m. - will provide candidates and incumbents the opportunity to share their vision for leading Decatur. The event is free and open to the public.

Candidates and incumbents for each race will have one minute to introduce themselves and make an opening statement. A moderator will then ask a series of questions pertaining to their qualified race. They will then conclude with a one minute closing statement. The purpose of this event is to inform the public while familiarizing them with the potential leaders of our community.
