Nov 30    2017 Breakfast & Biz: No More Workplace Boredom

How boring would work and life be if we were all the same? Yet we often try, whether intentionally or not, to surround ourselves with people who look, act and think like us. Successful businesses strive to build a workplace that is diverse and inclusive. In this workshop, we'll cover:

•             What diversity and inclusion really is;
•             The business case for diversity and inclusion;
•             How to foster diversity and inclusion at your workplace (and in your life).

The Chamber is excited to welcome Mary Ila Ward, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, owner of Horizon Point Consulting. She has a background in corporate recruiting, economic and workforce development, talent management and leadership coaching and training. A huge believer in work-life integration, she helps organizations realize how they can hire for fit while improving diversity, engage employees by supporting them holistically, and drive home the importance of career development to communities and organizations.

She graduated from The University of Alabama, with a BS in Business Management and holds a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University.

The Chamber's Breakfast & Biz business development training and networking session provides ongoing support for our local business partners. The event is $10 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. To confirm your membership status, please click here. We ask that you RSVP by Friday, Nov. 24.
